Behaviour Packages
See below for commonly asked Questions on how to select a behaviour package.
Who chooses what package I need?
The choice is entirely up to you! Every package contains a thorough assessment and full, written Behaviour Plan with detailed guidance on how to improve your pet's behaviour. Which package you choose depends on how much (or how little) follow-up support you'd like to have to guide you through implementation of the Behaviour Plan. See below for more FAQs.
I'm still a bit confused or can't decide on a package
You may like to see my Behaviour Package Selector Quiz which suggests which package options may work well for you and your pet. That said, you're more than welcome to get in touch to ask! After you've completed my behaviour questionnaire and I know your rough location, I can suggest packages that would work best (and maximise your benefit) for your pet's problem.
What are the differences between packages?
All packages provide a comprehensive, in-person assessment at your home and a written Behaviour Treatment Plan. The main differences between packages are the type (Practical/In-Person vs Remote/Zoom) & number of sessions included after your assessment. There are also differences in the length of the support period (time in which you must take sessions).
I want frequent check-ins to help monitor progress throughout the plan
I recommend going for a premium package - these contain more follow-up sessions and a longer support period
I'd like a package tailored to my pet's behaviour
See my specialist packages, tailored to specific behaviours I often see in cats and dogs respectively. The type of follow-up support in these packages is designed to suit a certain problem and may include options such as an online shared tracker.
I'd like a behaviour plan, but I don't need much follow-up support
I suggest going for the Essential package, which includes an assessment, full plan, and 1x follow-up Zoom
I need help with reactivity or aggression
For these behaviours (especially with dogs), I advise a package with at least one in-person (practical) follow-up. This allows me to be there with you to watch and help with implementing techniques in your plan, maximising success and risk-reduction. This is important regarding the safety of owners/others, as aggression presents considerable risk and legal implications for clients. Packages with at least 1 Practical follow-up session include: Supported, Supported Plus, Reactive Recovery, Reactive Plus
I live well out of London, can you still help me?
Of course! If you live within a few hours of SW London, I can likely still provide in-person support though an additional travel fee will be included, calculated on how many trips to see you are included in your package. Alternatively, I can provide entirely remote packages with different package lengths - see the final tab for pricing for entirely remote packages.
How do I know which packages my Insurer will cover?
Your insurer will not discriminate whether or not you can claim based on package type. The only things that matter to your insurer when considering packages are whether your policy covers behaviour at all (sadly, some don't), and whether or not the price of your behaviour support exceeds the limit your policy will cover for behavioural treatment. I cannot see your insurance policy, so to find out answers to the above I recommend getting in touch with your policy provider to clarify your pet's cover. Finally, pet insurance policies only pay out claims for treatment provided by an acreddited Clinical Animal Behaviourist, and where your vet has provided a direct referral to the behaviourist (me). All of my packages meet this criteria, so dont worry!
